Dr. Lee was a Patient Before He Became a Doctor

Dr. Lee was a patient before he became a doctor, so he understands his patients. As a teenager, Dr. Lee suffered two year long illness that disabled him from school and social life. Through his health ordeal and miraculous recovery with Acupuncture and Chiropractic treatments, he decided to become a healthcare provider dealing with injury and pain management in neuromusculoskeletal conditions.

Background Education

After receiving his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Human Biology, in 1993, Dr. Lee graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree from the top-ranked National University of Health Science (formally N.C.C.). He completed internship trainings at the Chicago General Health Service and the Salvation Army Clinic. He also completed National's clinical acupuncture certification program and studied further at the Midwest Center for the Study of Oriental Medicine. Prior to establishing the Rapha Clinic in Virginia, Dr. Lee was licensed and practiced in Illinois and Maryland for several years, treating patients with injury and pain.

Each Patient Is Unique

His diverse training and experience taught Dr. Lee that, "Each patient is unique, deserving individually tailored treatment plan." He also observed that, "a doctor's the most important task is to accurately diagnosing a patient's condition. Only then can he effectively treat the patient." He added, "that's why I committed myself to keeping up-to-date on the latest healthcare technology and information as long as I practice."

Injury, Pain Management & Preventative Health Care

Dr. Lee shows special concern for injury-related conditions, pain management and preventive health care, due in part to his nearly 38 years of experience in martial arts - certified Master in Tae Kwon Do (WTF) and Self Defense, Dr. Lee also treated many athletes - amateur and professional - including the Washington Redskins football players. Since 2009, Dr. Lee has been serving as the sports doctor for the Virginia State TaeKwonDo Association (VSTA) and VA State and local TKD Championships. As a Certified Golf Fitness Instructor (CGFI), Dr. Lee also helps Junior and Adult golfers - amateur and professional - with their body biomechanics to improve golf games and lower their handicap.

Director Of Rapha Clinic

Today, Dr. Lee is the Director of Rapha Clinic, and through his extensive training and experience, he continues to treat patients effectively and train associate doctors and staff.

Rapha Clinic Asks some important questions of interest to Sterling residents - Chiropractor Sterling Rapha Clinic Asks...

What's the difference between chiropractic and medicine?
Medical treatment focuses on the disease or the symptom. Chiropractic focuses on the person with the disease or the symptom. Medical treatment usually involves changing blood chemistry. Chiropractic involves restoring nervous system integrity. Medical doctors prescribe medicine. Chiropractors adjust the spine—a common source of nervous system interference.
How does headache medication find the headache?
It can't! Chiropractors know that when you ingest a drug and it enters your bloodstream it numbs or deadens your entire body. Chiropractic adjustments, on the other hand, are specific, targeted and delivered with precision.
